Decription
Its construction dates back to 1554; Noteworthy are the crypt accessed through a 17th-century wooden door and the wooden sculpture representing Christ Crucified; it is one of the very few crucifixes in the world in which Christ is depicted with his eyes open, a moment before he expires.
In fact, on May 3, 1956, during a procession, the head came off causing the crystal in the left eye to shatter, which is still visible. The crucifix was then moved to the Church of the Immaculate Conception and properly restored.
