Decription
Institute in 1982, was based in the Helper Tower of the Castle-Fortress of Crotone. In 1996 it was permanently relocated to the premises of the Sottocampana Barracks and the Commander Tower of the Castle, the latter used only for temporary exhibitions.
There are three exhibition halls. The first room mainly preserves ceramic fragments of floor tiles and crockery of southern workmanship, which came to light during excavation work carried out in the city’s historic center and the Croton area.
The second room displays numismatic documentation in showcases, in which a bulla, a small rounded object generally containing an amulet that could be worn as a necklace pendant, stands out. We also find hunting daggers and some swords, objects of daily use (cannate, lanceddre, salaturi, limme, capase).
