Decription
It encloses the icon of the Madonna of Cape Colonna, also known as the “Black Madonna” because of the dark coloring with which her complexion was painted.
The table, to which many miracles are attributed, is celebrated in Crotone in May, the Marian month par excellence, and dates back to the sec. X-XI.
The chapel, on the other hand, consecrated in 1911, was designed by Farinelli and frescoed by Severini. Also noteworthy is the Baptismal Font placed in the Epiphany Chapel, dating back to the 13th century.
